Kathy Nelson grew up near the southern Appalachian Mountains and has deep southern roots, both geographically and spiritually. The poignancy of visual art and the written word has been a thread through her life as a teacher, a telecommunications engineer and chaplain. Kathy journals most mornings, and often accompanies her written entries with line drawing & watercolor sketches inspired by her surroundings. As a published poet, Kathy interprets life and nature. As a painter, she interprets those same subjects through watercolor and oil paintings.
BRUCE NELSON, Kathy’s husband, is also an artist. Kathy and Bruce collaborate on images they call versographs. In these works, Kathy's poetry is superimposed on Bruce’s photography.
