Marsha Springs’ history as a painter began with her move to Black Mountain. After retiring in 2003, she decided to shift from exploring crafts to pursuing fine art. Marsha signed up for art classes, beginning with watercolors, and the excellent instruction inspired her to add oils and pastels to her creative toolbox. Marsha continued to take classes, largely through SVFAL, for 10 years. Currently she takes up the challenges offered by SVFAL’s theme based showing opportunities. Keeping up with the steady exhibition schedule motivates Marsha to pick up her paintbrush and capture scenes from life that catch her interest.
